Suzanne E. Beatty, LMSW,  Director

Suzanne Creary-Beatty accepted the role as Director of CWA Local 1180 Retiree Division in 1996. As the first Director of this new department, Suzanne was charged with the task of bringing to life the vision of the Board of Trustees, which was to develop a department that provided programs and services to Local 1180’s retirees.

The goal of the Retiree Division was, and continues to be, to enhance the lives of retired members and keep them active educationally, socially, and culturally, as well as remain emotionally healthy. This has been done by offering an array of clubs, classes, workshops, trips, activities, outreach efforts, and benefit meetings, and a monthly newsletter aimed at meeting the needs and interests of retirees.

Prior to accepting this role, Suzanne was the director of numerous health and human service programs in Westchester County and held positions on several boards on both a local and national level. She is a NYS Licensed Master Social Worker and holds her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Wheaton College. Additionally, she holds a NASW Certified Advanced Degree in Gerontology, Certificate in Retirement Plans from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, a Geriatric Scholar Certificate Awarded by the Consortium of NY Geriatric Education Centers, as well as several other certifications and awards in the field.

Under Suzanne's direction, the Retiree Division makes more than 10,000 face-to-face contacts annually and more than 90,000 contacts through individual mailings. She is excited by both the new retirees and "older" retirees and their enthusiasm for the opportunities through the Retiree Division. She stands by the motto of the Retiree Division -- We Do It All!
